At Chattanooga Periodontics & Dental Implants, Dr. Charles Felts III and the rest of our team understand quite well the frustration that comes with not being able to use your mouth the way you are used to using it. Dental pain is one thing, but it is another to lose your permanent teeth entirely.
The good news is that innovations in dental technology have made it possible to restore the full function of your mouth with dental implants. Thanks to full mouth restoration, you can even get your full smile back in as little as one day.
About Full Mouth Restoration
Full mouth restoration is a full arch dental implant solution, which means it can be used even if you are missing all of your upper and lower teeth. Dr. Felts places four to six implant posts into the jawbone to support an arch of prosthetic teeth that sit securely on top of the implants. This arch helps dentures remain securely in place without risk of slipping, and the implants can last for decades.
The Procedure
After ensuring you are a good candidate, Dr. Felts and our team will prepare you for surgery with sedation. We will use a sedation method based on your needs and preferences. The surgery itself takes a few hours to complete.
We use guided implant surgery to ensure proper placement, and then we fit the arch on top of the posts once they are in place.
Good Candidates
Dental implants may be a good choice for patients who have missing teeth or who need multiple extractions. Good candidates for full mouth restoration should have sufficient bone density to support the implants.
Candidates should also be able to undergo surgery that will last for a few hours. Dr. Felts can help you determine if this treatment option is right for you.
